Alexandria Bay Ragtime Jasstime Festival

The Grand International Ragtime Jasstime Foundation puts on a festival twice a year in Alexandria Bay, NY. In recent years the site of the festival has been the Edgewater Resort, located on the St. Lawrence Seaway in the beautiful area known best for its thousand islands.

Here we see the entrance way leading to the entertainment center, housing the main stage Gazebo Room, the Scuttlebutt Saloon, and Oscar's Restaurant.

Festivals don't happen without a lot of help. Here are the people that make this festival happen.

Alex Bay Concert Organizers

Seated are Betty Bell-Smith on the left and Joan Davidson on her right. Standing are Fred Wispell, usually seen managing the Scuttlebutt venue, Gord Davidson, MC of the Gazebo Room, and the general organizer Pel Bell-Smith. Bob Darch also plays an important role.

Canada is in the distance

The view from the windows of the Gazebo Room and Oscar's Restaurant are simply spectacular. Canada is across the water and a nearby island with a castle can be seen in the distance. Paddle wheel boats are a common site.
